I saw the person in front of me ordering the exact same flat white who was clearly Mexican and they didn’t ask for a tip. When I came up and ordered the same exact thing they kept repeatedly asking me for a tip. When I politely declined the barista proceeded to make me one of the worst coffees I’ve had in CDMX, and I’ve been to one of the Kiyo locations before and had a great coffee previously. I don’t appreciate being racially profiled and strong armed into tipping just because I look like a foreigner. By the way, l I also live here and I’m not overflowing with money as they would assume. This is a bad look for Kiyo. Not coming back.
Let’s teach the staff to say thank you! Good coffee (toasting is a bit acid) great food! However the staff don’t say “hello”, “welcome” nor make eye contact, but they do ask for a tip, lol and even if you tip they don’t say thank you. Probably won’t return due to the poor service. Lastly: no bag for takeaway orders… this is 2026…
Like the original Kiyo in Juarez, coffee is the best you can get, the croissant is the butterly you can get and the service is great.
Great coffee, quick service. Nice seating outside.
Kiyo has the best coffee and the best vibes 💖
