Chic cafe serving pastries, small plates & sandwiches alongside a thoughtfully sourced wine list....
A lovely cafe to relax, especially out on the patio. The espresso tonic was refreshing, and the mango meringue was light and enjoyable. The cinnamon cookie leaned a bit dry, though we visited late in the day which may have been why. Overall, a solid place for a casual drink and a quiet break.
Great food. Cute location! Bad service. Worst we’ve had so far in Mexico. She was kind but that’s it. We even played a game called “let’s time how long it takes for her to bring sugar for our lattes after we asked 6 mins ago and then reminded her again” the answer was an additional 8 mins. The worst part was she was making eye contact with and checking on the other tables but would not even look at us when making the rounds. I raised my hand to catch the eye of another waitress multiple times to just get basic service things. We asked for a bag hook when we sat down and got it 30 mins later. Mind you two other tables sat down in those 30 mins and got bag hooks. I don’t normally leave bad reviews(im more of a rave reviewer) but it was my friends birthday, this meal started the birthday celebrations and the vibe left a bad taste in our mouth. Go for the food and the cutesy vibes or go at a time when they’re not busy at all. Side bar: DELICIOUS coffee. So smooth and non acidic. They use great espresso.
Our first visit to Mexico City, and we ate breakfast at Café Nin every day - everything we sampled from the menu was delicious! Highly recommend the eggs with mole and the bean and tomato stew, while my wife loved the chilaquiles and the sweet pineapple tamales. They also had oat milk for coffee, which was tasty both hot and iced. A large array of pastries too which were all great, suggest ordering some to take away for your adventures in the city. Thank you Café Nin!
This place is always busy because it’s really good food. It’s trendy too so everyone looks really well put together. Service was very friendly and we got sat pretty fast. I’ve been here for breakfast and the wait time can get really long. This time I was here for lunch and the wait was about 15 mins. The price point is like USA prices so plan to pay a bit.
My girlfriend and I were visiting Mexico City for the first time and happened to be staying in the apartment directly above Café Nin. We originally chose it out of convenience because it was close, but after our first meal, it instantly became our spot. We ended up eating here at least once a day for the entire trip. The food is incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of character. You can taste the intention in every dish. There is a balance of comfort and refinement that makes you feel like this is exactly what food is meant to be. The staff is what truly sets Café Nin apart. From hosts to servers, the communication and attention to detail felt almost military in precision, yet delivered with the warmth of family. They remembered our names, our orders, and even which pastries my girlfriend loved most. We never felt like tourists. They made us feel like we belonged there. By the end of the trip, Café Nin did not feel like a restaurant. It felt like home. If you are visiting Mexico City, do not miss this place. It is the rare combination of excellence, genuine hospitality, and memorable food that stays with you long after you have left.
