Cafe Belle Bombon

Don't usually comment, but feel the need to do so for a number or reasons: 1) The lady was very unfriendly and you had to constantly go to the bar to get her attention. 2) We were a group of 7, of which four of us ordered the the full English breakfast. This came with no beans, no tomatoes, no mushrooms, no black pudding and no toast. They replaced it with green peppers without warning us they did not have any other ingredients. 3) The main reason for going in to have breakfast there was that the kids wanted some pancakes. We were told that they did not have any. 4) We ordered 2 orange juices, and they had to go elsewhere outside their premises to bring it. We saw one of the staff member bring in a large cup of orange juice and gave it to the lady waiter at the bar. She then took two small cups and shared it between these so we could have 2 juices!....incredible! 5) At the time of payment, we were told that they did not accept credit or debit cards. When I complained that there was no warning about this she took out a small hand written note and put it on the door saying that she forgot. I was then asked to go a few blocks down the road to withdraw cash. .....you be the judge whether it merits to go!

Such a wonderful find as this cafe is cosy with friendly staff and has a great selection of cakes. I had a muffin and coffee and the cake was so fresh and moist. Shame we are only in Madrid for one day or I would be back tomorrow.

Amazing pastries, excellent service (even though the staff didn’t speak English). The smell alone is enough to want you sit in the bakery for hours.

Tasty pastries and great coffee. We have also tried their savoury snacks - a pie with meat and spinach pastry. Both very nice. There are not many tables around and you need to order at the counter.

Rudest staff member. Even after serving us our order - she didn't even bother to take the former customers utensils. Pastry was mediocre.
