Quirky, brick-lined cafe whipping up cakes, breakfast classics & local staples amid old-timey decor....
A meaningful campaign with tasty and authentic Vienna cake made by grandmas and grandpas. Various of choice for pastries yet affordable. Place is cozy and the waitress is friendly too. Would definitely revisit if I go to Vienna again.
Absolutely wonderful place, they were so accommodating for me and my sister - we had this place on our bucket list for Vienna and it lived up to the hype. The place is eclectic in the best way, everyone of every age was there. The cakes and coffees were delicious, and I got to try an Austrian coke. Absolutely fantastic place, highly recommend!
This coffee shop is the actual definition of a cozy and warm place. They’re all very kind and fast to prepare your food. I’ve been here twice where I tried two different cakes: Sacher Torte and apple cake, both delicious. The second time I’ve been it was around 5.30 pm and the Sacher torte was not available anymore, in addition there was not as much choice as the previous time. This disappointed me a little bit because at that time it should still be full of different options to choose among. However, I’ve to admit that the Apple cake was delicious as well! I’m also not satisfied with the hot drinks that they offer. The main choices are tea and coffee, but what about an infuse? My mom ordered a ‘rooibos tee apfelstrudel’ and they assured me that there was no tea in there. Result? There was, and that caused stomach pain to her. So I’d suggest to add options like infuses/tisanes. Last but not least, the place is very warm but the bathroom is super cold so make sure to bring one more layer there!
Loved this cafe run by “pensioners”. Hands down the best cake we had in Vienna! The cake menu changes daily depending on which Grandma/ Grandad made it. If you see the “Heavenly Cake” - get it along with the Buchteln
Walked in 9am Monday and had to share a table with others; make a reservation if you mind but I thought it felt homely because of the cozy ambience! Staff are friendly but really busy and take time to attend to tables. If you have time however I highly recommend starting your day here. Shoutout to Mr. Manfred for being so warm & patient💓 Make sure you get the cakes made by grandmas and grandpas working there, especially the vegan chocolate cherry almond one!🍰
