A café with a great ambiance: vintage furniture, flowers, light, colors - everything is executed tastefully. The staff are kind, skillful, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the matcha latte did not live up to our expectations. It was quite muddy and bitter. The latte art was prepared flawlessly, so I’d attribute it to the quality of the matcha powder. Also, in other photos from this café, the matcha looks completely different. Sadly, it was a disappointment.
Japanese music plays in the background, the matcha is more on the bitter than the sweet side (if you prefer that!), we also tried the matcha cookie and it was pretty alright (wouldn't buy it again though). They also have Japanese buns, Japanese sweets and even vegan banana bread. Beware, they're having a Christmas break from the 22nd to the 28th! Either way, maybe I'll return here for the black sesame late, which looks very unique! A couple seating options are here as well (seats for around 20-25 people or something?) and you receive your items quickly! All in all, a cute spot for relaxing or studying!
Hot Dirty Chai (5.30 €): I initially wanted the black sesame latte, but it did not contain caffeine, so the barista recommended the Dirty Chai instead. It was a smooth, well balanced blend of chai and espresso. Hot Strawberry Matcha (6 €) with Oat Milk: Wow this was the best strawberry matcha I have had, and it was served warm. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the presentation was beautiful, and the matcha was smooth. Highly recommend. The store itself smelled wonderful, like freshly baked croissants, which made the experience even more inviting.
I had about 4 hours to kill before a train and was all spent on exploring the city and wandered into this place. It was such a cute vibe with plants everywhere, even though there was a lot of conversation it was not too loud. The staff was super kind and the drinks were genuinely some of the best I've had in a while (chai latte, mango matcha latte). Also, the wifi was very strong which was a nice bonus~
I went to Cafe Planta during my whole stay in Vienna and it was a delight to be served by Min who did amazing coffees and delicacies. The shop is so cute and cosy. I loved the epoxy table which was so original. I will miss the coffees and the place. Love from Mauritius to Min!
