Service = Top, Food = Terrible! Great service! The ambience is amazing and stands out in terms of style. Waiting time was too long. Felt artificially inflated created wait times and hence the long line. The Sacher Torte was horrible. Dry, felt at least a couple of days old. Tbh was a bit like grocery store pastry. Opinion: not worth the visit.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable Viennese experience! Visiting Café Sacher was an absolute highlight of our time in Vienna. The legendary Sachertorte was simply perfect — rich, balanced, and exactly as famous as everyone says. The atmosphere is elegant and timeless, making you truly feel the history of the place. The service was professional and attentive, even though the café was quite busy. Everything, from the presentation to the taste, reflected high quality and tradition. A must-visit spot in Vienna for anyone who appreciates classic desserts and authentic café culture. Highly recommended!
We visited Café Sacher and tried the traditional Sacher Torte as well as another classic cake, the fudge cake. The fudge cake was the highlight for me — rich and enjoyable — while the Sacher Torte itself wasn’t quite to my personal taste, even though it’s clearly an iconic dessert. We did have to wait a fair amount of time to get seated, which is probably expected given how popular the place is. Once inside, the atmosphere was very pleasant, elegant and classic, and the service was equally good and professional. Overall: A great experience for the ambiance and tradition, even if not every dessert stood out personally.
It is truly a special place to take a break in Vienna. The atmosphere is impressive, and knowing that aristocrats, dukes, knights, and many famous figures once sat here reading books while enjoying something sweet makes the experience even more memorable. Sitting in the same space feels genuinely special. I had a Wiener Melange and the Original Sacher Torte, and both were excellent. The Melange was smooth, well balanced, and very enjoyable with its light foam. The Sacher Torte more than lived up to its reputation — rich chocolate flavor, a subtle touch of apricot, and perfectly complemented by the whipped cream. Even on a weekday around lunchtime, we waited about 30 minutes to get in, but it was absolutely worth it. If you’re walking around Vienna and looking for a place to rest, enjoy a great coffee, and treat yourself to a dessert, this is a must-visit spot
The dirty bathroom, the dirty staircase, the food is average for the exaggerated price you pay—overall, it’s a very bad experience, unless you’re an influencer looking for followers on social media. The manager is rude. I ordered a coffee, didn’t like it, and they still wanted to charge me for it, on top of telling me that I made a mess with the cream. IF YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, then come visit this place. Terrible.
