Comfortable, late-night institution offering traditional cafe meals, draft brews & outdoor seating....
We loved this cafe! We ordered the traditional chocolate cake, coffee melange, and tea. The atmosphere is great and we saw lots of others ordering beer and wine as well. Definitely worth a visit!
This café has its own unique charm. At first, the atmosphere might feel a bit harsh, but once you let yourself settle into the vibe, it’s really enjoyable. Grab a beer and definitely don’t miss their Schwarzbrot with Schinken and Kren—it’s absolutely delicious. The place is truly special, and I made sure to stop by twice during my time in Vienna. Highly recommended.
We visited the café because of its reputation and the positive reviews. We ordered two desserts, which were nothing special — just okay. They didn’t offer us any water, probably because we didn’t order any drinks. The worst part, however, was the attitude of the waitress with the black hair. We felt completely unwelcome. Her expression, the way she placed the plates and the menu — not only for us but also for the nearby tables — and the lack of even a basic greeting when customers enter or leave a place where they spend their money, all gave off a very negative vibe. We ate, stayed for about fifteen minutes, and left because of the overall negative energy. I don’t care if that’s part of their culture or if they simply don’t want tourists. Basic courtesy is the least they should offer.
We enjoyed a wonderful Viennese-style breakfast at this cozy, traditional café. The waiter (maybe the owner) was incredibly kind and always smiling. The space is small and charming with wooden chairs, and the food was excellent at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
The very nice lady at the candle shop around the corner recommended this place for a drink and a bite to eat - we were glad we took her advice! There's indoor and outdoor seating - the locals seemed to take the lower indoor bar area while we sat just inside the door. Lovely atmosphere - it feels very authentic. The beer certainly was, and the Sachertorte slice perfection! This visits will be one of the lasting moments of the city for me! :-)
