Loud and poor quality food. Advertised price is NOT what you pay. I ordered a dinner for 55k IRD and was charged nearly 70K IRD. I was told the difference from the menus price was 10% “tax” and 3% credit card fee. Rip off!!
My husband and I went here last week after reading about it on Facebook. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table which is always a good start. The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose what meals we were going to order. We decided on the beef rendang and chicken pad thai. Oh my goodness they were flavour explosions in our mouth. So delicious and fresh. For desert it was black sticky rice pudding and caramelised banana with palm sugar and added ice cream. Again this did not disappoint, every mouthful wonderful. The guys, Putu, Made, Dede and Nyoman (Chef Mudana) are so friendly and are genuinely interested in their customers, and if they’re not busy in the kitchen, will sit down and have a chat, which is so nice. We felt so welcomed, like we had known them for ages. We have since been back again and sampled other dishes off the menu and they were amazing too. Looking forward to attending Chef Mudana’s cooking class on Monday so we can learn how to cook some of this beautiful food.

It is just amazing doing a cooking class at Warung Makan SMS. They are so friendly, full of humor, and incredibly professional. You learn so much. Chef Mudana, Dede, and Made were amazing. We had the greatest time, and they gave us all the recipes so we can make everything at home.The best thing is that they offer lots of alternatives for ingredients. And they tell you how to use the boemboes later by freezing them, along with lots of other useful tips. The food was great. This is the real Bali!
I came to chef Mudana’s warung after travelling around Bali for 2 weeks and eating at local warung around the island and their ayam betutu completely blew my mind. The balance of the flavours in the bumbu sauce was out of this world and the chicken was the perfect doneness and juiciness. I am gonna think about this dish for the years to come. Chef Mudana and his team really know their craft and their love for Indonesian and Balinese flavours truly shows. Terima kahsi 🙏
