Popular, fairytale-inspired cafe offering sweet & savory crΓͺpes & other treats amid whimsical decor....
The little kook is a big fiasco. Decoration is fun and interesting, worth seeing. But this is where everything ends. The rest is a culinary circus. Sweets are with cheap ingredients, lack of imagination high of sugar, low on taste. The atmosphere is interesting at first, but after 10 minutes you realize that they only repeat the same song over and over again like one carousel. If the sugar bomb didn't make you dizzy, the music will surely do. But don't worry if you fell on the ground, the distracted and understaffed personnel will hardly notice you. The toilets are awful. Not very clean and they lack the seats.
This is a compound of fairy tale shops. It is decorated with items that are carefully chosen to create a dream that is filled with magic beans, candies, fairies, magic books, keys to wonderlands and afternoon tea at the witches. I learned that they change their themes and decorations according to seasons and Festivals, which is amazing. I cannot imagine what a big warehouse they must have to store all these items! This is a place really dazzles if you want to have a piece of magic lands. I ordered just a cup of tea here as I have a big dinner ahead. I really enjoyed my moments here except that it seems the whole rooms is not heated.
We can early afternoon, were sitted immediately by a very polite (and costumed) Waiting staff. The drinks were great (espressomartini and a wonderfull recommendation from the waitress), we also ordered vegan cake, I've tasted better in my life but honestly the experience was great and we really enjoyed the decor, drinks, service and general vibe.
This is a small district in the city. Little Kook have a cafe and a few other buildings which are interesting , such as a Christmas shop and pancake house. Food was great but portion sizes are way too much. I ordered the seeded bagel eith scrambled eggs and salmon etc. That would have been enough but it also came with a large bowl of overnight oats with fruit and honey. It was really tasty but thought it would be better to reduce the size. I had to share it and leave most of the bagel. Service is fast. The cafe is very interesting. Upstairs seating is a Christmas themed atmosphere. Would come again if I ever come back to Athens.
We visited Little Cook in Athens with family β including our young son β during the Christmas period, and it was absolutely magical. The decorations are unbelievable. It feels like stepping into a Christmas fairyland: countless lights, festive displays, and a truly enchanting atmosphere that both kids and adults will love. The staff are very friendly, and the coffee and cakes are excellent. I would highly recommend trying one of their cakes or a hot chocolate. You cannot make a booking, but on weekdays you can often walk in without a queue. As you get closer to Christmas, you may need to wait a little, especially during peak hours. The prices are quite high compared to other coffee shops in the area, even though itβs in a very central location. Some cakes and chocolates can feel a bit overpriced, but in many ways you are paying for the atmosphere and the incredible decorations rather than just the quantity. Itβs not necessarily a place youβd visit very often because of the cost, but it is absolutely worth going at least once during the Christmas period for the experience. The only downside is that because of the incredible amount of decorations, itβs not always easy to move around β especially with children. The toilets are also downstairs and the staircase is quite narrow, so that can be a bit tricky. Despite this, itβs absolutely worth a visit if youβre in Athens. Itβs one of the loveliest places weβve visited with our son, and he loved it β which means we will definitely be going back!
