Bagels & Beans

This review isn’t about the bagels, the bagels are good as always. As someone who drank almost every cappuccino at every Bagels and Beans shop, this was by far the worst cappuccino I’ve had. I’m not saying it’s not drinkable, I’m just comparing between the shops. The beans are probably not fresh or at the edge, feel watery in the mouth, smell faint, taste so “dull” and empty, stale coffee and bitterness, but not as harsh as the other non-fresh beans. However, milk hides the taste, so it’s okay. AGAIN, I’m comparing it to the other shops in this franchise, since I’ve been eating bagels and beans for 2 years straight, nonstop. Shout out to Bagels and Beans Diemen tho, best to ever do it! Other than that, I appreciate the staff; they’re so friendly as always. The atmosphere is kinda small, but very nice for grabbing lunch with a friend, not for working on your laptop, etc.

We visited this café and everything was excellent — the taste, presentation, and service. The café itself is quite small, and the tables are also small, so everyone sits very close to each other. However, this did not affect the experience at all, as the service was truly excellent.

This was the most disappointing part of our entire Europe trip. The service was so horrible I almost canceled the order. My wife started by asking for take away. She asked for a sesame bagel with butter. The two girls at the counter laughed in her face and stated with a degrading attitude “we don’t have that here.” So she asked for cream cheese instead but on the side. She then asked for a vanilla latte with whole milk. They again laughed in her face and said “we don’t have whole milk here.” She switched to oat and by this time was so unbelievably uncomfortable she didn’t know what to even say. I then ordered a bagel and juice. We paid and they told us go wait outside like a dog. There was no one else waiting to note so there was no reason to make us move. While we are waiting outside in the cold the rude cashier comes to tell my girlfriend she can’t put the cream cheese on the side either. She said “okay but please very little on the bagel then.” About 10 minutes later they come out with our bagels, coffee, and juice to take away with no bag on a tray. We then had to request a bag which should have been obvious. Upon open the bagels there was such a large amount of cream cheese on my girlfriend’s bagel she literally scooped it off with a spoon and it had a very weird taste. The latte was the best part. I would never go back and if I could take this complaint further I would.

I had the best bagel in my life here. (mushroom burger) There are also some vegetarian/vegan options and you can also choose between different types of bread. I had a chai latte with oat milk, which was also delicious. Would definitely recommend it!!

Food was amazing at this place; ordered a cappuccino and a spicy tuna bagel. Enjoyed the food very much and the service was very friendly too. The place can be quite busy but absolutely worth it. The bagels are so fresh that they’re crunchy yet very easy to bite into. Cappuccino was nice and frothy too! Highly recommended.
