The seasonal beef short ribs are very tender and well-cooked, with delicious side sweet potato that is crisy on the outside, 100% recommend. The chicken taco is a bit on the sour side for my palate, also not for those who enjoy a hard shell taco.
I don’t know what was wrong with the waitress who served us today but she has to be one of the unfriendliest servers I’ve ever seen. Genuinely felt sorry for her… Food wise I absolutely don’t recommend ordering the smash burger as the patties in the one I had were totally flavourless and so was the cheese, which also had a rather strange texture... The bottom bun was also very greasy on the outside, which made holding the burger a pretty messy experience. On the other hand the chips and the coffees were great and so could’ve been the atmosphere, if the music hadn’t been so terrible. We won’t be coming back.
I had a 4 days visit with my husband in Vienna and we‘ve been twice here in Stadt Cafe. We have tried the Sachertorte, Apfelstrudel and Crepes orange. It tastes really good. I can well recommend to eat here rather than other Cafes, waiting for hours with this freezing cold December before you can have a table.
Definitely will never recommend this place. A whole set of cold breakfast and a cup of latte without any smell of coffee 😤With such a price and all of the salami, bread are not freshly cooked.👎The waiters and waitresses are also super unfriendly, they are racist and will drive you out of the restaurant if you stay there longer after meal. In terms of management, it is definitely not a good way of doing business. Plus the radiator does not work properly, make it even colder physically and mentally. Never Ever choose this cafe!
This is a wonderful place. It may not have the decorative style many tourists look for when visiting Vienna, but it feels very traditional and authentic. We came here to try a Sachertorte after a famous café nearby was completely full, and we were lucky to get a seat. What a great surprise: both the Sachertorte and the Apfelstrudel were excellent. Despite the café being quite busy, the service was friendly, helpful, and efficient throughout our visit. I totally recommend this café. It’s a truly classic and iconic place in Vienna, well worth a visit
