Coffee Fellows

I visit Coffee Fellows on Mariahilfer Straße at least once a week, if possible gladly more often, and for good reason! The staff is more than staff, they are people, and you instantly feel welcome and seen; as someone who has visited this Café for years, and at least once a week for the last half year, I can confidently say that it is one of my favourite spots to visit. The drinks range from a wide assortment of "regular" coffee and tea options to seasonal specials and beyond; be it currently at the Time of writing this review the Pistachio Trio (Matcha, Chocolate, Latte), or an autumn classic like a Pumpkin Spice Latte (or even an Oat Pumpkin Spice Chocolate, which I am currently enjoying!) that doesn't lose any of its charm or quality even now at the end of winter with spring approaching, or any other unique choice of drink, one definitely will find something to fit their taste and preferences, at a more than reasonable and fair price during these trying Times of everything getting more and more expensive. Equally of high quality and excellent taste are the food options, be it the different cakes, the bagels which are freshly warmed up when ordered, or a personal favourite, the muffins (a personal recommendation from a staff member was the Blueberry Muffin, and I haven't spent one visit since without getting at least one for the duration of my stay, and the occasional second one to take home) As if the food and drinks don't already manage to create an amazing atmosphere (which they do!), there's also music playing, softly in the background; loud enough to enjoy, but not overwhelming as to distract from any reading or conversation or work, basically at the exact right volume. Speaking of work: there are a lot of tables without it getting overtly crowded, even during the peak visiting hours when every seat is taken (which happens for a good reason and once again speaks to the quality of the place that not only I personally enjoy immensely), I never felt cornered or oppressed by a lack of space. And since I started coming here on a weekly basis, I got a lot of work and reading done, a perk of the Café being on the first floor on top of and inside a big book store; and beyond, there's even specific tables dedicated to people working with their laptops; and once you grabbed yourself an excellent drink, and a delicious treat (the heavenly Blueberry Muffin comes to mind!), sitting down and getting some work done on my manuscripts has never been easier or felt better! If there is a negative thing to add, it really only is the people coming in and hogging the laptop spaces without even getting anything to drink or eat, treating this wonderful place, my safe haven you could say for my writings, as if it were their personal office or home work desk; which at the end of the day, it is not, and is not supposed to be! It's still an establishment, still a Café, and with the things gained from this place, taking away the room for the people who actually appreciate what is being done and created here is just unfair! But what wonderful thing it is that the only negative thing I can think of to say is the audacity of customers that refuse to actually be customers and imagine they have the privilege of claiming a seat inside a Café without purchasing anything from said Café; if they want to occupy a space like that, they can go to a public library, or stay at home! Overall, to end this on a positive note: I come here every week, and will continue to do so; the ambience, the staff, the people, and the food and drinks, and also the convenient location, they all invite me back regularly, and more often than not I also invite my friends and family and acquaintances to join me, to go get a coffee or hot chocolate, a nice sweet or savory treat, and have great Time here together; and all of the people that joined me on my weekly visits say the same thing: they can't wait to come back and join me for another session of great conversations, great productivity, great ambience and service, and amazing little treats!

Nice place, good size coffee for the price. Cozy, comfy and right on the center to relax and you do not have time limit to sit 👌☕️🍵

I used to love coming to this place! Not anymore, sadly. First, they put stickers on the tables re no outside food. And that would make sense if they offered other options to eat rather than ordinary bread-based snacks. I do buy a drink every time though, that goes without saying. But I can't eat a quick banana while sipping their pretty pricey latte? Come on! Secondly, if they want us to drink their coffee, then they should provide a means for us to let the coffee leave the system at no extra cost. Thalia washrooms are not free of charge, even if you've purchased something at this cafe. If I drink a coffee, guaranteed I'll need to use the facilities in about an hour or so. Do I have to hold it till I get home, or budget extra 50 cents on top of already pretty expensive drinks? Finally, they added no laptop stickers on a vast majority of their tables. Another limitation! Basically, thanks but no thanks. I'll take my money elsewhere.

I used to love coming here multiple times a week to spend an hour or two studying as it was the perfect place to do that, but since the laptop table limitation it ruined the whole point for me to go again. You also have to pay for bathroom access.

This coffee shop is an absolute gem! The service is always amazing. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel welcome every time. The food is not only delicious but also reasonably priced, making it a fantastic value for the quality you get. The space is clean, cozy, and perfect for relaxing or catching up on work. BUT what truly sets it apart is the partnership with Thalia, allowing you to browse and even check out books while enjoying your coffee. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great spot to relax.
