Café Ritter

Cash only! This place was recommended by our hotel receptionist. It is definitely a more local place compared to other cafes in Vienna when you look at the price. The cappuccino was outstanding. The breakfast set was a good deal and a good representation of how a Viennese breakfast should be like - simple but elegant.

Our second visit to a traditional Vienna cafe for lunch. This one once again is full of old world charm, but that’s where the positive ends. Service is shockingly bad. We waited to be seated with many others, to only be hold by a local guest you just have to find a table on your own. Now that’s not an issue for us, but the waiters walked past us many times, and didn’t bother to help us. The food is nothing special and the service even worse. Oh and btw, they ONLY ACCEPT CASH, thou no signs to indicate that.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. A nice spot to experience Vienna’s café culture. The beef soup was really very good. The atmosphere and the piano music playing in the background were truly enjoyable 💯💯 However, the place could use better kitchen ventilation, as the smell of food and oil inside was quite strong. Other than that, everything was great!

Cash only but they do have an atm inside the cafe. Lack of friendliness from the waiter is made up by extremely fast service. The sausage and goulash are delicious but the schnitzel is more on the disappointing side. Overall it is very affordable for such a classic looking place

Very authentic and original place. Good coffee and good food. Servers are usually quite busy and do their best to serve everyone, but during busy hours, be prepared to wait a bit longer. Great for breakfast, lunch, or a quick coffee break.
