Food was good but the service horrible. I needed to wait like 30 minutes for a food which was on the daily menu. In the meantime I saw a group who arrived after me being fully served. So they prioritised them not sure why. Also I was already after my soup and they just came and their order was way faster served than mine. Multiple waitresses served me and it was chaotic. It is a pity because the food was not bad but I couldn’t enjoy it well due to this bad experience. One more thing: there is no salt or oil on the table so if you happen to ask for one of these you will need to wait a lot again. Water by default is not given for your food, you need to order and pay for it extra. I got the feeling they should lean first how to do waitress job as this quality for such a place is awkward.
Kavárna Lucerna is truly a hidden gem right next to Wenceslas Square. It’s the perfect place to slow down and relax in the middle of the busy city centre, especially after long walks around Prague. The interior is very unique, with a warm and romantic atmosphere. The large windows offer a lovely view of the statue outside, which adds a special charm to the whole experience. It feels cozy, elegant, and timeless. I only stopped by for a coffee, which was very enjoyable, but I noticed they also offer weekly menus for the restaurant, which definitely makes me want to come back and try more. The waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming, bringing a very positive, almost festival-like attitude that made the visit even more pleasant. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful café with character in the heart of Prague. Definitely worth a visit.
Whenever I’m in Prague, I make it a point to stop by Kavárna Lucerna. Located in a prime part of the city, it offers excellent prices and stunning views both inside and out. The atmosphere is unique, and it's not uncommon to spot movie stars visiting after a premiere. It’s a great spot to enjoy a relaxed break in an iconic setting.
I have mixed feelings for this place. Clearly you have to expect a 1930s experience in a Poirot type setting and so a degree of allowance can be made for old stuff and furnishings and general ambience. We arrived late into the lunch service and so were not too disappointed when they'd already run out of goulash. We had the risotto in its place which tasted ok, but wasn't very warm. Service was good even though the staff have limited English, they were able to communicate very well and were patient with us. It's a good experience to come here and I recommend it. Oh..and check out the dangly horse thing.
Fancy place with just OK food and terrible service. I had a walnut cake which was good, but for the price I'm sure I could have gotten a better one somewhere else, and an espresso which I did not order, but the treatment by the waiter was so bad I decided to not send it back, just drink my coffee, eat the cake and seek the exit as fast as I could. What saves the place is the ambience, so you could just order water (for which they charge 2 euro) take in the atmosphere, take some pictures, and then look for another (better) place to have a coffee and a dessert.
