Welcoming coffeehouse with handcrafted coffee, espresso & tea, plus breakfast, lunch & pastries....
I am a long-time Starbucks customer. I came to this location to get coffee and ordered a matcha. I did not know that it does not come with sweetener here, because in the United States it does. When I received my drink, I asked why it wasn’t sweet. The employee told me that sweetener costs extra. I said that was fine, but I wish I had been told earlier since I waited 20 minutes in line. At that point, the employee became rude and yelled at me, saying, “I don’t care.” I told her that was rude, and she yelled at me again and said something in French. Her name was Amal. I was so shocked by the way I was treated that I didn’t even drink my coffee. I went back to ask why she was being rude and to get her name. Instead of addressing the situation, the entire staff laughed at me. As I was leaving the store, the same employee yelled again, “I don’t care.” I have never felt so humiliated as a customer. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially at a Starbucks located next to one of the biggest museums in the world. Employees like this give the company a bad reputation. Is this really how Starbucks wants to be represented?
My worst experience at Starbucks. there was agirl from African-cleaning staff member took our drinks from the table, claiming they were finished, without even asking if we were, and then threw them in the trash while the drinks were still full. I have never experienced such terrible service.
Lot of space, vut way too many people just coming inside without ordering anything, böocking seats and crowding the toilet! They should definitely do something against it!
It was okay, but unfortunately the decline of Starbucks was visible here as well. They had no cream and even cold drinks are served in paper cups, which takes away the aesthetic completely. It's a good place to charge your phone for a while and the drink tasted alright, except for the lack of cream. The view from the window here is directly onto a Mc Donalds - which is very fitting, since that's how Starbucks feels, too, nowadays.
05/13/25 - FOLLOW UP - A Positive Impact, but More to Address at Starbucks Rue L'Echelle. After sharing my previous feedback (see hereafter), I was pleased to see real improvements at Starbucks Rue de l'Echelle! The **thermos temperature was readjusted**, and **air conditioning was in full effect**, making the space much more comfortable. Overall, kudos to Starbucks for its responsiveness, but here's hoping they take further steps to **optimize their bathroom usage policy** so their **actual customers** can fully benefit from the space. --------------------- I recently visited the Starbucks located on Rue de l'Echelle, Paris2, and was pretty much disappointed by the environment and service. It seems like this Sbux has adopted questionable practices that deter somehow from comfortably enjoying the space (particularly the deliberate overheating of the space) on the second floor. With indoor temperatures exceeding 73 degrees F while just 63F outside, the atmosphere becomes unbearably stifling after only a few minutes. Rather than fostering the welcoming, community-oriented mood Starbucks is known for, this branch seems to prioritize a grab-and-go policy. Such behavior starkly contrasts the brand's global reputation for creating comfy spaces where people can work, relax, or connect with others. That staff's attitude further exacerbates the experience. Their lack of friendliness and overall poor service (maybe overwhelmed and clearly understaffed for a spot located right next to the Louvre) contribute to an unwelcoming atmosphere that fails to meet the standards one typically associated with Starbucks. If you're seeking a comfy space to enjoy your drink, this location sadly falls short. I hope the management addresses these issues promptly to restore the sense of community and comfort that has made Starbucks a beloved global brand. Thank you!
