Royal Bar

Madam was pleasant to us family of 7 with 3 teens. She was patient with us asking first for tap water because we had trouble saying it in French, then she understood and said aqua? Yes!! Then we placed our drink order of beers, cafe etc. No food ordered. Waited here until the one teen got his Notebook nearby. Atmosphere was great. Love the area.

Do not, under any circumstance, stop here for a drink! My friend came to sit with us for all of three minutes while we finished our drinks on the empty terrace and was harassed and yelled at by the two owners until she ordered a FOUR EURO Coca-Cola. The workers were absolute horrible considering the entire restaurant was empty at 7:00 pm on a Wednesday. I would sooner die before returning to this establishment.

Very nice traditional French bar in the middle of rue Saint Denis ´ betwen ´ Les Halles ´ and Strasbourg Saint Denis the Owner is very cool guy and is flexible to take some food from the restaurants near by.

What a hidden gem! Dropped in while waiting for my wife who was shopping nearby. So glad I did because we needed up having a wonderful time. The bartender/owner was very obliging and we ended up making friends with several of the local patrons. If you love Portuguese culture like we do, it’s an added bonus. Do yourself a favor and drop by, even if just for one drink - or several rounds like we did! Highly recommend for a low-key but fun experience.

I had a pleasant couple of pints during happy hour( which nearly lasts all night(from 17h to 23h30)). The bar is classed as a historical building with beautiful tiled walls that go back 153 years. The boss and barman where very nice. Recommended for a beer or 2.
