This is a very charning place outside but close to the touristic buzz. This place is one of the latest years' trend for coffee shops specialized in coffe making rather than just offering the typical (mostly bad) parisian coffee. Inside an historical building it offers a quite and cozy atmosphere in an oldish-style parisian setting. Great service. Only negative is the tables/seats that could be unconfortable to some.
The coffee is undoubtedly very high-quality, with a rich, slightly bitter and mild taste with fruity notes. But for 6.5 euros, a cappuccino cup should be at least a little more. This establishment opened relatively recently as part of a broader network of "Noir Coffee Shops", which was founded in Paris by entrepreneurs and enthusiasts of coffee culture, who sought to create a space where coffee is prepared with special care about the origin of the grain and roasting methods, selecting high-quality Arabica. The space inside creates a cozy, almost temple-like atmosphere: high ceilings, large windows, glass tiles and a thoughtful interior that invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Staff: magnificent barista, nice and kind. Great. Place: precious. A mix of the old and the modern. Don't miss the spiral stairs. Coffee: good! 😊 The only problem would be that is not very comfortable, but the vibes are chill and people are calm and quiet. Good experience.
Exceptional specialty coffee in Paris with truly unique flavors! If you're a coffee enthusiast looking for something beyond the ordinary, this is your spot. Coffee: The most distinctive coffee I've had in a long time. I ordered a flat white and was impressed by the complex, intriguing flavor profile – hard to describe exactly, but it's clear they're working with high-quality, carefully sourced beans. Would love to return and try their espresso to fully appreciate the nuances. Barista/Service: Skilled and knowledgeable staff who are genuinely passionate about coffee. They're happy to provide recommendations and explain their offerings when asked – great for both coffee aficionados and curious newcomers. Space: Intimate café with limited seating (cozy rather than spacious), so timing matters. We visited during a quieter period and had no issues finding a spot. The unique interior adds character and makes for an interesting atmosphere. Perfect for: specialty coffee lovers, coffee tasting experiences, solo visits, or catching up with one friend. If you appreciate craft coffee and distinctive roasts, don't miss this place!
We walked into this Noir, and I had to do a double take whether I was in a Cathedral or a damn coffee shop. This place is BEAUTIFUL. I had PTSD from going to church as a kid, as I was whispering to my girlfriend like I was in mass. In the best way possible, there was an odd sort of reverence in here. Whoever did the interior design here, from the color palette to the tables to the spiral staircase, I want them to design my house. Bang my line lets work. I only drink black coffee because any sort of milk just upsets my tummy, but this black coffee stood out from most of the other black coffees I’ve had. It tasted fresh, I don’t know how else to describe that. Usually a black coffee is just a black coffee, but this one was bussin. Since my girlfriend also just got a double espresso, I had to snipe a picture of the table next to us who had some lattes with latte art. Beautiful. I get inspired by the most odd things in life, and some good latte art is near the top of that list. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo
