We stopped by to try the famous Crookies, the croissant-coonie mix everyone was talking about online, but honestly, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It was good, just not THAT special. Ours didn't feel very fresh and it leaned heavuly on the sweet side, which quickly became a bit too much. We grabbed ours to go, but one thing that surprjsed me was the pricing system; apparently it changes depending on whether you stay in or take away. I've never seen this logic elsewhere. Service also left a lot to be desired. It was my first time using their cash payment machine and instead of helping, the staff barely interactef - just tapped on it and walked away. Even taking pictures inside felt uncomfortable, like we weren't really supposed to, so we skipped it and took our phitis outside instead. Overall, not bad, surely worth trying at least once, but definitely not worth all the hype.
We had to wait in line, but not for long. We got ourselves two Crookies which where 5.90€ each. We didnt want to sit down, because it would have cost an extra 1.20€ each. The Crookie is very sweet and perfect for people with a sweet tooth. Its basically a fusion of Croissant and Cookie with the Croissant being crunchy and the Cookie being chewy and chocolaty.
Maison Louvard is honestly all style and very little substance. The space itself is well designed—modern, visually pleasing, with nice furniture and lighting that make it feel trendy and Instagram-ready. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. We went specifically to try their famous “krookie,” and it was moderate at best. It wasn’t warm and tasted like it had been sitting out overnight, which was especially disappointing considering we visited in the morning. That alone was surprising, but even more so because nearly everywhere else we’ve eaten in France has been exceptional—this place stood out, and not in a good way. The worst part of the experience was the service. The black male server was openly rude and clearly in need of customer service and hospitality training. He became visibly upset when I was taking pictures and proceeded to shoo me away, which is completely unacceptable in any culture. I also witnessed him get angry with an older woman simply for asking a question. It was uncomfortable to watch and made the environment feel unwelcoming. To make matters worse, it was very clear that tourists are not appreciated here. The woman behind the counter was also rude when asked a question in English, reinforcing the feeling that unless you’re French, you’re an inconvenience. That kind of attitude leaves a lasting negative impression, no matter how nice the decor is. Vibes: 4/5 Food: 2/5 Service: 1/5 Paris has so much incredible food and so many welcoming cafés. Save your time (and money) and go literally anywhere else—this spot is not worth it.
First time trying the crookie at Maison Louvard and it was amazing! The perfect blend of a croissant and cookie—warm, gooey, and absolutely delicious. The service was quick and genuinely pleasant, making the whole experience even better. Definitely give it a try!
The Crookie is worth the hype. Wish i got more of it. It is cheaper when u order pastries for take away. We had lunch there and the food also was amazing. The escargot was full of flavor and cooked just right. I got the pork chop with their homemade mashed potatoes which were nice and creamy. My friend got the roasted duck with gratin and she said it was full of flavor. Definitely worth a try. I would go back.
