Very nice food and very nice people

Classic bar tabac with authentic interior. Downstairs features timeless telephone cabines and bathrooms. Friendly service. I hope it stays this way.

Took over one hour to get the food to our table. When asked, was very rude. Food was not good. Would not recommend visiting here.

My experience at this restaurant was absolutely AWFUL, if I could give it less than one star I would. The service is horrible and the staff are extremely rude and discriminatory. Me and my dad were at the Louvre and decided to stop by here for lunch. My father has cancer and eats a strict diet because of his condition. When we asked about vegan options we were treated rudely and were barely accommodated. I did my best to speak in French and was nothing but kind to the server. Upon finishing my main course the server abruptly dumped the remains of my plate onto the table in front of me knowing that I had ordered dessert and it was not there yet. In addition, I watched as the server walked with the used plate, wiped it with a dry cloth and laid it with the clean plates. Disgusting. Not to mention we were 1 out of 2 brown families sitting in the restaurant both of whom were treated with a lack of respect from the server and the owner. The other family who sat directly in front of us had brought small children to the cafe. The children, as children do, began to get playful in the cafe and the owner yelled ferociously at them. I was horrified. Paris is a tourist city, in fact we were right down the street from the Louvre. That being said, it is evident that many of the customers that eat at this joint would be tourists so it is unfair to expect that everyone will speak French and to treat paying customers rudely because of this is insanely ridiculous. The experience I had at this joint not only showed a lack of hospitality but a lack of humility. The food was subpar but would have tasted much better if they had been kind to us while we were there. This was one of the first and only meals I ate on my trip to Paris and it left a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of my trip. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone. A tip to management: food is best served with warmth and kindness.
