Great cabaret/club in Paris that I understand has been presenting jazz since the 20's. Shows sell out frequently, and although there's a large balcony, plan on arriving early if you have any hopes of securing a table. Very courteous staff and a respectful patrons.
Saw Maxime Sanchez one evening, great vibes, cosy atmosphere and nice guests. They don't have hot tea unfortunately.
While the music was great as always I would like to mention an incident that happened at the Bar. The bar displayed many spirits etc and had about a total of 4 cocktails in the menu. My friend asked the bartender if he could do a basic classic cocktail like an old fashioned to which he said itβs not possible we can only pour neat spirits or order from the menu. She went ahead and ordered a cocktail from the menu and to her surprise it was poured PREMIXED from an old and dirty looking gin bottle and handed over to her. She took a sip and it was a sugar bomb! She nicely gave feedback to the bartender to which he said β well what did you expectβ she asked him if he could pour a little liquor in it to make it sippable and he said in the most condescending tone β I am sorry for you, but I will not do itβ take or leave it. And ofcourse we left it. This is horrible service period. In the bar industry feedback is welcomed, drinks are adjusted and definitely not poured premixed from A bottle - but given this is a concert venue not a real bar that part can still be over looked but NOT the rude condescending behaviour of the bartender. This happened on the 24th of September 2025.
Heard the amazing Jacky Terrason here. Sold out show, so we got in line about 30 minutes before doors opened, 90 minutes before show. Charcuterie and other substantial snacks if you skipped dinner to get there early. We sat in front seats to watch pianistβs hands. I doubt thereβs a bad seat in the house. Great sound, solid cocktails. Jacky was terrific. Nothing like a sold out crowd and a great room to bring out the energy!
On my one day stay in Paris I decided to enrich my spirit with some jazz music. The Human Being Band was playing on May 21st and man was it good. The atmosphere, the music. I recommend going early, because the venue fills up fast. I had to sit on a stool in the back. Other than that, it was all good.
