Le Sympathique

I absolutely loved this café, not only for its charming atmosphere and delicious coffee (the best I had during my entire trip to Paris!), but for the wonderful owner who made every visit feel special. He was so kind, welcoming, and genuine, the kind of person who makes you feel safe and at home even in a new city. I’m so glad we stayed right next to this café; it quickly became my favorite spot in Paris.

Looks like a random neighbourhood bistro, but the cooking is really excellent, and yes, the atmosphere is genuinely friendly.

The owner here was such a sweetheart! Smiles all around despite the language barrier. We enjoyed coffee with a delicious croissant and some orange juice.

One star because I can’t give zero stars. Probably an ok place to get a cup of coffe or a beer but the food is absolutely terrible and it made me sick. I was served the most disgusting meal I have ever had in my life. The meat was spoiled, it had probably been cooked the day before and I guess that is what made me ill. The wine and even the penne was not fresh and had been reheated. The man in the bar was acting condescendingly when we said we didn’t like the food. Horrible place to eat.

Jouseph, the owner will make you feel like family. He's generous and kind to every one who visits. Yummy food! And a generous host- it doesn't get better.
