Familiar cuisine served in a traditional setting with sidewalk seats & late-night hours....
I have been witnessing the verbal & physical agression by the waiter Wali (like written on his badge) who served us earlier. He punched the face on the upper jaw of one client while he was shouting at him, & asking him to leave immediately his table. The manager came and removed his unfinished drink left on the table. The manager was holding his wrist firmly stopping him to keep his drink on the table. the client asked loudly to call the Police several times, no one reacted. the Waiter kept arrassing while he was trying to call the Police. He succeed to reach the call center operator, who kept him online on an answering recorded message during several long minutes. Under the pressure of the manager the waiter keeps up asking the client to leave immediately while waiting for the Police arriving finally around 12h30.
The crème brûlée was delicious, but the coffee left much to be desired, especially the cappuccino. On the other hand, for the first time in France, I found a restaurant with clean restrooms. The place was well-kept and quite pleasant.
Nice place for breakfast. They have traditional English and French. The ham & cheese omelette was perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed the waffle and cafe au lait.
American tippers beware! I had wine and French onion soup which was marginal. I would have given this a 3 or 4 star but the waiter who was flaunting over me, asked for a tip. I said 20% on 21.50 € he put it through for a 40% tip. Shame on me for not catching it but for the restaurant … I never signed the charge so basically what he did was chargeback material. Quick call to the bank! It’s not the money as more of the principal and I am pretty sure they make this a habit! I asked for bill from another waiter and he basically ignored me so the original waiter could check me out! Again this isn’t a ton of money - but regardless it’s a rip off!
It’s a tourist trap and cliche but I kinda loved it. I usually avoid eating at these restaurants but I do enjoy having a drink here. it is kind of cute to see people from different countries FaceTiming families home to share the joy of the fact that hey we are tourist in Paris
