Le Descartes

Very disappointing experience at Le Descartes. The service was terrible: the staff was openly contemptuous and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. Won’t be coming back.

Fantastic, cozy place for your morning coffee and fresh pastries. Everyone welcomed me kindly.

Belly up to this bar a couple doors down from where earnest Hemingway lived and wrote. The season I turned patron, I had trouble choosing between two hot cocktails, one was jarring and sweeter, while the other was rad and an old standby. Eventually I gave them both a shot but went back to the US wondering which suited me best.

After being denied entry from empty cafe's nearby (on the basis of not being allowed laptops) this cafe allowed us to sit with no problem. The young waitress was especially cheery and warm, adding to the character and ambience of the place.

Really great drinks, mamy options. The atmosphere is very nice. The service is exquisite, that the waitress along with bartender were very welcoming. There are many tables that you can sit also outaide in a very peaceful area. Very nice!
