Traditional mussels, salads & steaks served at a venerable restaurant popular for live jazz music....
The restaurant stays open late, and the kitchen also works late, which is definitely a big advantage. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t great. At one point while we stepped outside for a smoke, the staff asked if we were already done, which made it feel like they were tired and wanted to close as soon as possible. The music was also a big downside. The interior is really nice, but the playlist was very cheesy hard dance music. It’s surprising how much a bad playlist can spoil the atmosphere of the evening.
I’ve always loved everything related to the Le Chat Noir concept, so visiting this place was a small dream of mine — and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent in both presentation and flavor. We had foie gras and French onion soup as starters, followed by the Boeuf Bourguignon and the Planche Apéro platter. For drinks, we ordered the Le Chat Noir cocktail, a Virgin Mojito, and a Coca-Cola. Everything was delicious. At one point, an American couple arrived in a very relaxed mood and, while casually taking off their coats without really paying attention, accidentally knocked over and broke some glasses at the nearby table. The staff handled the situation quickly and professionally, staying calm, kind, and good-humored throughout. It really showed their level of patience and service. The restaurant’s décor fully embraces the Le Chat Noir theme, making it a dream spot for fans like me. The restrooms were spacious and very clean as well. There are many places to try in Paris, so we didn’t return on this trip — but I’d gladly come back next time. A great experience overall. And don’t forget to check out the souvenir glass in its beautiful red box. Merci beaucoup mes amis!!
Our food was delicious and hot. Thomas and staff provided excellent service. The drink choices were fantastic. The hours of operation are not typical to Paris and make the restaurant perfect for a bite anytime. We were a party of three with very different appetites. One enjoyed the duck and another the hamburger. The prices were surprisingly affordable for late night service.
Le Chat Noir is definitely worth a visit. Great interior design, ambience, food, cocktails and friendly staff. It's only 140m down the road from Moulin Rouge. The bathrooms were also exceptionally clean.
Was the best decision to come here for happy hour, cocktails were tasty. Staff were so quick and friendly- with an honourable mention for Gaspard who was lovely. We didn’t eat but food looked delicious. Great atmosphere with seats to people watch the busy street.
