Café République

The most unpleasant experience I've had in a cafe. Ever, not only in Paris. We sat outside and, because no one came to serve us, we went inside to order ourselves. Even though we did not explicitly ask for this, they gave us our coffee to go, which was not a problem by itself, but we wanted to enjoy the terrace for a few minutes so we sat outside again. When we went inside to ask for an ashtray, they basically threw us out, as the terrace was not for us, because the 'to go' prices were lower so we were not allowed to sit there.

Trying to find somewhere abit quiet, and this was lovely. Service was very pleasant and efficient, food was nice. However whilst I was sitting enjoying the view and contemplating dessert I was abruptly given the bill! And told service was over hmmm!🤨

Service was very good and professional. Food was yummy, Definitely recommend the Spaghetti Bolognese and the fries. The tables are a little bit small for 2 people eating a meal.

Visited this place before the Olympics in 2024 and it was good so I went back again this year for a quick breakfast. Food is ok , I mean it’s croissant and hot chocolate ~ you can’t miss that. The server attitude was not welcoming and he barely had the urge to greet us or other clients. (Before any of you come at me, I’m francophone so the language was not a problem) Any how, if you don’t like cigarettes smell , I suggest you to sit inside. It’s ok for a quick coffee and croissant.

Super creamy pasta! The food is good and overall experience was pleasant. I wish the waiter would’ve been just a tiny bit more friendly but I understand they were quite packed. I would definitely come back for the pasta.
