Matisse

We had our wedding welcome dinner here the other night. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious and Sergio went above and beyond. They were also great about our nut allergy. I would highly recommend Matisse for your next event! Thank you for a wonderful night!

Food was disappointing. I ordered two chilaquiles with arrachera (one poblano and one green). The menu said they came with beans, but none were served until I asked for them. They also walked around offering sweet bread, and we declined, yet two pieces of sweet bread still showed up on our bill and I had to request they remove the charge. Not sure if it was an honest mistake or something else. The steak was bland, chewy, and lacked flavor. For the price, the quality didn’t match what we expected. The one highlight was the latte—it was actually very good. Overall, not worth the cost for what we received. The restaurant was beautiful!

Quaint older building...2 stories, beautiful courtyard w waterfall from the early 1900s. The restaurant is a charm...individual rooms or courtyard dining. Super disappointed! While the environment was lovely, and the spot seemed really popular, we were really surprised with the lack of quality with the food. I ordered French poached eggs with salmon and brioche bread, and half the salmon came out uncooked and cold. Not a single aspect of the plate looked fresh. I didn’t even eat the meal out of fear of food poisoning. My partner’s dish came out very poor as well. We didn’t have forks to start the meal out with, though it was handled in a relatively timely manner. The only highlight was the staff— every single one of them were lovely.
