This place met the hype! Our group got the churro ice cream sandwiches, as well as a seasonal special of red velvet churros and a cherry milkshake. There was a bit of a wait but understandable because there were so many people in line and at tables. Was totally worth it though!!
Nice churro spot right outside of a beautiful bustling park. The churros were good but were very sweet. If they ask if you want sugar I would recommend asking them to have the sugar on the side so you can sweeten to your own desire. The ice cream used for the churros was not the best, it wasn’t as creamy as I would have hoped. As for the sauces, the guava sauce was my favorite, though you can’t really go wrong with the chocolate/nutella option either! The outdoor seating is really pretty because you get views of the park. Overall a great place, would go back but would skip the ice cream with churros and would ask for sugar on the side.
El Moro quickly became one of my go-to stops while staying in the city. I ordered the mini churros, regular churros and hot chocolate. They were consistently fresh, warm, and exactly what you want when you’re craving something sweet. I ended up going back multiple times and recommending it to pretty much everyone I met. They have several locations, which makes it really easy to stop in no matter what area you’re staying in or exploring. If you’re in Mexico City, it’s absolutely worth popping in for a churro (or two).
SOOOO good. I make a point of visiting here every time I'm in Mexico City! Fast service. Definitely try the churro ice cream sandwiches as well!
So unfortunate that with all the high hopes that brought us to El Moro, the visit was unexpectedly so disappointing. The Churros were not fresh at all and were cold and chewy, covered with too much sugar. The chocolate dip was too thick and also too sweet. Had to leave everything almost untouched. I just don’t understand how they can be that bad and this famous!
