I was visiting Madrid and took my breakfast twice in Granier. They say they have cheap menus but they catch you in the midlines. In the first day I ordered a café con leche (coffee with a bit of milk) and some pastries. They say they have a menu of café + pastries, but as I ordered café con leche it ended up being more than 1€ more expensive (1€ for a bit of milk...). In the second day I returned and tried a new approach: I ordered a café solo (the one in the menu) and a croissant (they have a menu with café + croissant) but the waitress (rude as hell) asked me if I wanted the croissant simple or with cheese and ham. I asked if the simple one would come with some jelly and she said no, so I asked for the other one but only with cheese. In the end that wasn't part of the menu and they took me 5€ for a café solo and a damn croissant with cheese. Only after I pay the waitress said it didn't matter the croissant was just with cheese or if it had ham, it would cost exactly the same. Resume: I'm not coming to this place again and if you don't want to be stolen nor be treated like a tourist, neither should you. (The only good thing is that they have good variety of pastries)
I’m an English speaker who speaks very limited Spanish but wants to improve. I want to recognize an employee at this Granier who spoke perfectly good English but patiently listened to me when I spoke in Spanish and replied to me slowly and in simple Spanish so that I could understand her. The next day she smiled and patiently helped me practice again. It was very patient and kind of her and I really appreciated it.
Granier is always good for bread, sandwiches and pastries. And the coffee is good.
Good bakery too many options it’s open on Christmas days also Recommend hot chocolate Italian style reach The staff talk English easy to order
Good service, offered a variety of bread yet just less choices than other equivalent Granier for pastries and desserts. Ordered tea and the plate was dirty with something looks like previous chocolate leftover. Understanding the location is on a busy Madrid street, yet the washroom needs to be cleaned regularly please. Its cleanliness simply reflects how clean is the kitchen too. Enough said.
