Ladies, please be careful β I was assaulted by the owner of this restaurant (the guy in the grey shirt). We went there around 2pm today after reading the positive reviews, but I had a terrible experience. The owner touched me inappropriately twice β once when showing me to the toilet and again when clearing our table. When my husband confronted him, he first denied it and then said he was sorry if he did so, even offering a piece of bread as if to make up for it. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. I strongly do not recommend this place. It made me feel so uncomfortable that we had to leave without finishing our meal. Even though itβs a family-owned place and the food is cheap, itβs absolutely not worth it β you get cheap behaviour too. Worst experience ever.
The menu is cheap and the quality of the food matches what you are paying for. The food is probably just reheated, I have received the paella 2 minutes after my order. The real problem is the total lack of hygiene in the place. The cook uses her mobile, blow her nose and cook at the same time without any glove, I hope I am wrong, but I have seen the waiter bringing my used fork to the table behind me for them to use it. Couldn't wait to leave the place
Love this neighbourhood resto/bar which I have been frequenting every time im in Madrid. Alfredo and his wife run a no frills joint, same menu, same home cooked paella and callos. Good homey food and some banter with Alfredo and life is good.
I've eaten here several times over the years. It's always been good. But I ate here today and it was a disaster. I don't know what happened but the food was just terrible, the place looked dirty, it was just a horrible experience. The only good food was the french fries. The pollo, there almost wasn't any pollo on the mess of bones. The lasagna, dreadful. The good news, 12 Euros. The bad news, not worth it! Sad really.
The overall experience depended on the price/quality equity. The paella was super dry and not fresh, and the pork was not cooked enough. However, I can recommend the lasagna.
