We had an amazing lunch on the new year's eve! i totally recommend the sun dried tomatoes and grana padano risotto, one of the best meals i've had ❤️.
Murillo Café feels like one of those places you don’t expect to find outside Venezuela. I tried several things and everything was on point, but the polvorosa de pollo really stood out. It instantly took me back to Venezuela, where I had it many times growing up, pure comfort food, the kind that brings memories with every bite. The tequeños were light and crispy, not oily, and clearly made with care. The numpias were another favorite, crunchy, flavorful, and even better dipped in soy sauce, which adds a subtle Asian twist without taking away from what makes them special. The sliders were kind of normal, nothing special. What truly completes the experience is the attention. It’s warm, natural, and welcoming, making you feel at home without trying too hard. Murillo Café delivers authenticity, nostalgia, and genuinely good food.
I will remember forever as exactly the kind of thing you want to luck into when you are out exploring the city in the fall. Sitting outside in the warmth of the sun, overlooking the museum and the botanical garden. Having the best possible food and service. This experience fell in our lap, but had I known, I would go out of our way to eat here.
In the beginning, I wasn’t welcomed with a smile, which already set a slightly cold tone. The food was delicious, but the portions were really small. The secreto ibérico didn’t seem to be prepared with much care..you could tell by the way the meat was served. After having the croquettes and the meat, I was still hungry, but since I wasn’t feeling very comfortable, I decided to leave. Unfortunately, there was also a spider in my glass, which didn’t help the atmosphere. The service staff spoke very limited English, and I didn’t feel entirely at ease. Dining alone was already out of my comfort zone, and the experience didn’t make it any easier.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch in Madrid at Murillo Cafe. We sat out outside on a beautiful afternoon. Our waiter Sebastian was excellent. The food came out promptly and was just perfect!! I recommend the grilled salmon.
