Long-standing chain patisserie serving coffee & light meals, plus fancy pastries & cakes....
I picked up a Black Forest Gateau from Patisserie Valerie and let me tell you, I was not prepared to have a small life experience in the middle of my day. Five stars. No debate. Visually it looked like it had its life together. Dark chocolate sponge, thick layers of cream, cherries tucked in like they actually belong there, and chocolate shavings sitting on top like they paid rent. It had presence. Not loud. Just confident. The kind of cake that knows it does not need to try too hard. Now the sponge. Soft. Moist. Rich. But not heavy. You know how some Black Forest cakes feel like you need to schedule a nap and rethink your life choices afterwards. Not this one. This was indulgent but balanced. Like it respects you. The cream was smooth and fresh, not overly sweet, not artificial. Just clean and proper. And the cherries. That sharp little kick cutting through the sweetness. That is the magic. That tiny tang that stops it from turning into a chocolate sugar overload. It keeps everything civilised. Halfway through I genuinely paused. Just sat there thinking this cake has no business being this good on a random afternoon. It tastes nostalgic but not outdated. Like it walked straight out of a European café and decided to bless my table. It did not scream for attention. It did not need to. It simply delivered. Five stars. I might start inventing celebrations just to go back and get another slice.
I’m really disappointed with my recent order. I asked for the new Caramel Biscoff Matcha from the menu, but what I received was just hot milk with caramel and whipped cream on top. There was no matcha taste, no matcha color — nothing that resembled matcha at all. It honestly felt like whipped cream was added on top to cover the fact that it wasn’t matcha. If something is unavailable, it would be much better to inform customers rather than serve a completely different drink. I was really looking forward to trying this new item, and this experience was very disappointing.
I had the most amazing experience. The waiters were welcoming, kind and funny. The hot chocolate is divine and their cake not only looks, but tastes delectable. Highly recommend.
Excellent customer service. The scone was a bit dry. Lotus biscoff cake was nice tasted really like biscoff biscuit. The chicken wrap was my favourite. Coffee was disappointing.
I recently visited Patisserie Valerie for the first time and had a delightful experience. Baha was incredibly pleasant to talk to, making us feel welcome and comfortable. The service was efficient, as we swiftly got a seat and placed our order. Our food arrived quickly, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any delay. Overall, it was a wonderful visit!
