Danish theater history from the 18th century to the present day via costumes, set designs & models....
We love this experience very much. They kept all the things well. Worth visiting!
It’s a short stop. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The experience was unique as I never go to a theater museum before, so it’s a nice break from all the castles and palaces.
Small but an absolutely charming venue in the heart of Copenhagen. The museum is housed in The Court Theatre which opened in 1767. The theatre is the oldest working theatre building in Denmark. The museum and theatre are part of the Christiansborg Palace and situated above the Royal Stables. As I walked through the museum, I felt transported back in time. A true cultural and historical gem. The museum has a small cafe and bookstore with the cafe balcony affording one spectacular views of Christiansborg and the surrounding area. Guided tours are available on Wednesdays at 2:00. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
This is both an (irregularly-)active theater and a small museum. Old wooden floors and creaking stage, historical seating and balconies - expect charming atmosphere rather than modern luxuries. Small cafe in the lobby. The theater is located in a wing of Christiansborg castle, over the royal stable.
Very nice and little theatre, I was here for a guitar concert and I was really pleased by the good acoustics. There are lots of photos and paintings on the walls, and old costumes on display as well. A really nice place to visit.
