Original Coffee Rooftop

Very good view! Go there and enjoy your coffee!

I did not dine at all. Please do something about your rooftop door, when people open it to walk in and out it and the sun hits, it feels like a massive camera blitz for people on the street, I recommend you try mate stained glass or some sort of a film. Hard to capture the blitz, but this is the door in mention

After a day day of wandering around Copenhagen, and some shopping, we finally rested our legs at Original Coffee’s rooftop at Illum; exactly the kind of break a wanderer dreams of. The view up there is lovely: you can see the rooftops, the stretch of Strøget below, the bustle of Østergade, and in the distance even Christiansborg Palace. It gives you that quiet sense of being above the energy, yet in the heart of it all. Owners and childhood friends Nikolaj and Philip started out in 2010, with a few coffee bikes (“Rolling Coffee”) and now have many coffee bars across Copenhagen, plus their own bakery supplying fresh pastries daily. We enjoyed a delicious cinnamon scroll and a flat white on oat milk which was perfect. We also bought some of their beans to take home so our mornings afterward felt a little more like Copenhagen. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful:) If you’re shopping your way through the city and want a spot to relax, this rooftop cafe is well worth stopping for.

Nice rooftop terrace to have your morning coffee, topped with a sandwich cheese+butter, some sunshine and your day is made. Too bad there aren’t any tables outside, food and drinks are to be put on the bench.

I’ve wanted to visit this café many times, and today I finally made it. The location is great, right on the top floor, with a beautiful view overlooking the surroundings. The coffee is delicious, the desserts are good, and I really love it here. I’ll definitely come back again.
