Alice has lost their touch. The service has always been questionable, almost seems like it's a annoyance to them that you visit to purchase anything. I have always visited for the great baked goods and coffee, but honestly it is not as good anymore. The first fastalavnsbolle from Alice was the best in the game, amazing crunch and taste. This year it's totally off. Soft and unbalanced. Ordered two and they couldn't even be bothered to pick a container, where they both fit... 😅 Yet the prices go higher and higher, sadly the price to quality is no longer a match.
Their bread is very fresh and their coffee is delicious. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere. It’s located on the corner of the street, and it’s enjoyable to watch the outside while you sit.
Lots of danes so you know it's great and not just a tourist trap! Beautiful pastries (we had a cardamom bun, cinnamon bun, pain au chocolat and the traditional danish pastry, all divine! soo crispy). These with a cup of tea and cappuccino came to around £30 gpb, bit pricey but completely worth it. Window seating was perfect for people watching.
A truly stellar cardamom bun, for anyone that believes there isn't such a thing as too much cardamom. Fragrant, soft dough, very minor criticism that there was a slightly noticeable yeast after-taste, but overall one of the best cardamom buns. The croissant had good flakiness but was slightly denser than I prefer in the middle. The yoghurt with granola was another standout - lovely, thick yoghurt, super-crunchy and nutty granola (which the menu says comes from the Københavns Bageri), and a fresh berry compote. Very simple but each individual element executed with care. A cozy, calm atmosphere in which I would be happy to spend an hour working or reading.
Is such a lovely spot! The staff is super friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The pastries and coffee are absolutely delicious, but let me tell you – the ice cream is next-level. Creamy, flavorful, and honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to, not just for the amazing treats but for how welcoming and cozy it feels. Can’t recommend it enough!
