It definitely looks better than it tastes. It wasn’t bad by any means, but the flavour was lacking despite all the pistachios. Maybe because of the quality of the pistachios? Felt like a chain bakery, so it might be due to ingredient quality. I also tried the Himalayan black tea, which was very nice. But they have a weird payment and table system so my tea arrived 10 min later when I finished my pastry..
Gorgeous little bakery/café. We stumbled upon it while on our way to another place and decided to stop in for a coffee. The coffee was excellent, but the real showstealers are the pastries. I had a croissant, and it was truly the best one I’ve ever had. There's lots of other pastry options as well, and I'd definitely love to go back to try those. There’s seating inside, but since the weather was so nice, we chose to sit outside on the terrace, which was absolutely lovely. Overall experience: 10/10.
Extremely expensive for what you get and considering the country in which is located and the salary of Hungarian workers. Still we went twice as it was next to our airbnb but I actually felt guilty for contributing to gentrification. I’m a big foodie and this place was recommended to me. They make a great hot chocolate but none of their pastries wowed me. I had the pistacho croissant, the vanilla and apricot one, the almond one and the creme bruleé one. I wouldn’t highlight anything about any of them. Really average. The pistacchio one should have been more of a smooth cream like they do in Italy. My boyfriend had the pain au chocolat and the supercroissant with a lot of stuff inside. Again, 4 euros aprox for the mini croissants is crazy. Everytime we went we spent 20 euros in 2. Unbelievable. And the staff were not so kind to us, but we’re used to that in Hungary. It seems they don’t like tourists but still open places that are targeted for tourists as this one.
Vai in Budapešť is an absolutely incredible coffee and bakery spot. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the smell of freshly baked goods. Their selection of both savory and sweet pastries is amazing, with a great variety to choose from. The coffee is excellent, and I highly recommend trying their Hotbucha ~ it’s unique and delicious. A must visit place if you’re in the area ☕🥐 🥨🥯🫖
Just been here today, amazing experience. It was my second time here, and as the first time, it didn’t disappoint. The bakery menu is very diverse, and every single thing is amazing. The sandwiches are fresh and delightful, but the star was the crème brûlée croissant. Easily the best croissant I’ve had. As for the coffee, it was lovely, top 3 best specialty coffees I have had ever. The place looks great, the staff is very kind and helpful. This is a must visit location every time in Budapest.
