Spectacular customer service. The staff’s English is a plus point, especially here in Budapest where people don’t actually speak much of that language. Their pastries are a must! Top-notch! Other than that, the main dishes are fine. Give Matild a try, they won’t disappoint you :)
Best cappuccino’s I had the entire vacation in Budapest. Had to order several they were so good. Breakfast menu wasn’t extensive but the items we ordered were fantastic. Online showed no reservations available but was wide open when we walked up early in the morning and had no problem getting a seat, it was nearly empty. The pastry bowl was amazing and fresh made pastries. Good healthy standard breakfast options and some Hungarian options.
I really liked the restaurant! We visited it during "restaurant week" and tried 2 dishes and a dessert. We were very impressed by the good playing of the piano and the atmosphere. The waiter was very polite and served us well. The presentation was very good. Now it is one of our favorite places in Budapest and we will definitely visit again. 🌷❤️
I was first attracted by the building of the restaurant, beautiful historical building, inside and outside, then when I review the website online, i decided that I have go there because their menu, plus they have piano performance!! What can be better. Finally, everything was just great, the interior/ service/ food/ atmosphere are excellent! Me and my husband went there twice during our stay in Budapest, we both are extremely satisfied, i could write more, but I highly recommend you, at least have a coffee or meal once there, it’s an wonderful experience, i would love travel back Budapest again for Matild Café.
This is truly a stunning place to experience. Stepping inside is a history lesson in its own. The Cafe feels elite and like how it must have been a 100 years ago. Everything has been beautifully renovated and is a work of art. The atmosphere is magical at night, especially because of the live music offered with a piano in the limelight. About the service: exceptional. We got seated exactly in a spot where we requested and our waiter Tamás offered us top notch service. He instantly noticed that we have a somewhat wobbly tabled and fixed it. He always knew the exact time to serve, ask our opinion, be patient, or offer recommendations. He even asked for the bartender so we'd get exactly what we desire. Our food was great, it's elegant, international bistro style with some Hungarian classics. Flavors, textures everything was nice :) The highlights were: Asian Spiced Pumpkin soup and the dark chocolate eclair was to die for, honestly. The cocktails were well prepared and our wine choices didn't disappoint either. We finished off the dinner Italian style with an espresso. Prices are what you would expect, however you get what you pay for and more in my opinion. The atmosphere, service and food are all excellent. Well done! Thanks for the experience, it was a pleasure:) If you don't have the funds just get a coffee and have a feel for the place: it is a work of art!
