This place is beautiful and prices are the best!! But one barista(?) with blond hair was rude to us. We just asked two things where is the toiled and if we can go sit upstairs, and she reacted really annoyed and irritated. Be nice to your customers, cause we did not do anything wrong and were really respectful towards workers😐
Beautiful old-school cinema in Budapest. Absolutely loved the seats and the look of the booth. Very nice area around too.
Kino Café in Budapest has a nostalgic charm for those who’ve experienced its earlier cozy atmosphere, with comfortable couches and armchairs that made it feel like a true retreat. While the interior has become more modern over the years, it still maintains a welcoming vibe. The kitchen remains consistent, offering good food at reasonable prices, perfect for casual bites rather than a full dining experience. One of the highlights is its cinema, which screens a thoughtful selection of films, including Hungarian classics and older international titles. It’s an ideal spot to relax with a glass of wine, either before or after a movie, or just to soak in the ambiance. Overall, it’s a lovely blend of culture and comfort, especially for movie lovers.
Staff has absolutely no idea about what are they doing! I wrote this few years ago... I visited it now again. They have - of course:-) - new staff. They are lazy as hell! All of them were sitting outside of the place. I asked for "kino vegan" plate. It is few pieces of fries and mozzarella sticks. They told me that it will take 45 minutes!!! "Oil must be heated!" Really? No! They just like to sit outside and do not like to waste time in the kitchen at all!
The breakfast was fine, though nothing groundbreaking. Unfortunately we could not hear each other easily due to the background noise. Edit: We’ve been here for a second time and had to wait ~30 minutes for the breakfast after ordering.
