I can't understand why this place has such a high rating. If not for the service, I would consider giving it 2 stars. The staff was really friendly. The prices seem to be lower than at some (!) other brunch places, but I still think my dish (Hungry Mama) was overpriced. Just look at the picture - it wasn't anything special and it was quite small as well. The pancakes with salmon were pretty mid as well. Besides, the pancakes were a bit too sweet for this kind of dish. Maybe their other dishes are better. The coffee was good. If you're looking for a really good brunch, I believe there are many better places around Budapest.

Excellent food and outstanding service! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered was of very high quality and exceeded our expectations. The staff truly deserve special praise. They were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit late for our reservation, and since tables are held for only 10 minutes, we lost our table. Even so, the team went out of their way to accommodate us and managed to get us another table just a few minutes later. That level of service really stood out. I highly recommend booking a table and arriving on time, as this place is very popular. An excellent experience overall – we would definitely come back!

We went to the Grumpy Budapest cafe to get breakfast. It was a waiting line outside and took about 10 minutes to get a table for 2 people. We were told that there is a time limit of 1 hour, which is fine to enjoy a meal without being in a rush. The vibe and atmosphere there is very nice and cosy. It seems that there is a pretty diverse and international customer base. The coffee was great and food was delicious. We had a breakfast for big boys and a hungry mama. Both came in a good portion that filled our empty stomach. It was a great experience that I would definitely recommend and revisit next time I am in Budapest. For those who want to skip the line there is an option to reserve a table at least a day in advance.

The food is good and I love the pancake especially. The cafe is comfortable, clean and decorated with some elements related to cats. The owner and staff are very polite and friendly. They provide 2 menu - one of the menu with picture of the recommended food so it is very easy for travellers like us to decide what to choose. This cafe is highly recommended to people looking for place to relax and enjoy some good food. 🫶🏻

Amazing place with an extensive selection of “brunch” meals. We’ve visited this place twice so far but will definitely going to come back regularly. Very friendly service, inclusive mindset with a rainbow flag. They have a menu both in Hungarian and English. Culinary gem in the heart of the Jewish district with reasonable prices. The sizes are BIG and decorated with a finesse. I seriously fell in love with the food as well as the cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend it to tourists and locals alike. They just turned 6-years on the weekend when we were there and even got to talk to the owner who was very open, friendly and super fun person. Thank you, keep up the great work and wish you many more years of success.
