I am a member of the ateneu and I am sorry to report that both young ladies serving at the restaurant do so with utter despise for the client. It was easily the worst service experience I’ve had in Barcelona all year. One of them asked if I had a reservation and I said I did not. She asked if I was a member and I said yes. She then proceeded to explain the menu, scoff at my ignorance included. They proceeded to not take my order, entirely on purpose as she walked by me on more than one occasion. I had to get up after 45 minutes waiting to ask for them to take it. If I had this attitude with my clients I wouldn’t have a business, and rightly so.

They have different recipes for every dish. We had the today special calamari, cod fish and lamb cannoli. Every dish was amazing and tasted different than the same dishes from other restaurants

Great food, atmosphere, and service. Will visit again. Enter by the ticket office on the ground floor. You get tickets for the building when you tell the clerk you got a reservation at the restaurant.

This is a special place. It’s a terrace with a small pond and trees/plants on the first floor. The service is extremely friendly and authentic. The food is ok. In fact the tapas were really good but the steak I would not recommend, even though for an 18 euro main course I would not consider it a big issue. Deserts were excellent,(cheese cake and chocolate fondant).

Not much to say, in my opinion is okay, unless you are a member of the Ateneo you must call ahead and make reservations. #Bar@Restaurant
