Weekday mornings are the quietest
When we arrived we had to sit down ourselves, the waiter came to take our order but didn't even give us a menu (then we waited for it for 5 minutes). We ordered 2 coffees and one latte with caramel. First we were served 2 juices and one coffee and he told me they only had chocolate and that they ran out of caramel I said okay. After another 5 minutes the lady brought 2 coffees but she poured half of one (She gave it to us anyway). The latte I ordered iced with chocolate was warm with nothing in it. That's why I'm giving it such a bad rating..
I’m split about this coffee place. It looks nice and has a classy touch. You enter and you are served by friendly and easy going staff. With a smile. Orange juice is freshly prepared, brought to the table and tastes great - like it can only in Spain. Prices are very fair. What was a pity is that they use a walkie-talkie to communicate between the two bars which is a great idea for them but gives an airport feeling. And the apple tart was good but lacked the crispness… A pleasant start of the day.
Big plus for the soft brioche-style sandwich — perfect texture and great for a child.Big minus for the lack of displayed prices. It’s confusing when you want to compare options. We tried the King Breakfast Menu (12.5€), which includes five items: fresh juice, coffee, sandwich (limited selection), croissant, and yoghurt.Juice: very fresh and tasty.Coffee (Americano): unfortunately, the worst one we had during our week in Barcelona and Valencia.Yoghurt: excellent.Croissant (pistachio): filling was decent, but the chocolate tasted more like matcha or green tea than pistachio — not bad, just unexpected.Sandwich: fair, nothing special. We also tried a separate jamón sandwich, around 6€, which is about half the price of the set. It was decent but a little pricey for what you get.One staff member didn’t speak English, but others did, and communication overall was fine. That person seemed unfamiliar with the set menu — maybe new on the job.Overall, a good experience (4/5). There’s a café nearby where we had a slightly better breakfast, but this place is still a pleasant choice.
Cafe is very near my hotel and opens early. I had breakfast here a few times. Food is average. Coffee is very good. Service is ok.
El Fornet offers an excellent experience with a great team that is always welcoming and friendly. Their bread selections are simply excellent, freshly baked, and full of flavor. It’s a decent place to start your day, enjoy a coffee, or have a light breakfast. The cozy atmosphere makes it great for families to gather and enjoy delicious bites together. Definitely worth visiting!
