Best Hours for Work
Weekday mornings are the quietest
Comfortable cafe in Ronda Universitat belonging to El Fornet chain. Calm atmosphere based on wooden tones and vintage pictures. Wide array of sandwiches, pastries and hot beverages nicely prepared. Due to its centric location it can get more busy than other Fornets but still I would place it as the best cafe option of Ronda Universitat. Perfect for a pause after visiting the center of the city.
Generally, I like El Fornet for the relatively quiet atmosphere. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it here - the workers were shouting and laughing louder then all people speaking altogether 😳. Besides, they are more attentive to talk between them, as impression having no idea of sharing the duties between them, that's all in front of waiting customers. Thanks anyway and good luck 🤞
At first I fell in love with this place, but last Friday at 11:25 am my husband and I were treated like a peace of… I was very impressed and didn’t expect this. We almost everyday visited this place to grab a coffee but it was our last time. At first we asked coffee to go, a woman didn’t want to listen to us and made it in cups. We said this and she changed her treating, started screaming and be angry. She gave us paper cups and we pour our coffee over the sink. It was some kind of humiliation. Please, try to have conversation with your staff, it’s absolutely unacceptable. As I saw previous comments people are writing the same it means that you must take action… :( very sad! Perfect place but awful people
I'll give this a 4-star overall. Better than 365 which is a few doors down. I got a pastry filled with Nutella and it had more filling that 5 of these same pastries that you would get in the states. They are so very generous with the food here it's astounding. Some might say it was too much but you can squeeze it out if you want. I read another review that had an issue with the service and this was not the case for us. We went in less than a week after that review and had no problems. The staff was perfectly fine. We grabbed stuff to go and it was cheap, easy, and tasty. For the price, this is well worth a quick stop.
am not Spanish and I am just learning the language, so I sometimes have difficulties communicating. However, I speak English well — unlike the staff. The situation I faced happened twice in one day — on October 8, 2025. First incident (around 7:00 a.m.): I came to order a coffee and said, “Capuchino, por favor.” When they asked if it was to go or to stay, I replied in English. The employee became visibly irritated. When I tried to pay with a €50 bill after they told me the price, they started demanding small change or card payment. I paid by card and left. Such rudeness and the reaction to my poor Spanish, as well as the complete disregard for English, are unacceptable. Second incident (around 11:25 a.m.): I came again to get a coffee, this time to drink outside on the terrace, and I clearly said that. They started shouting at me, saying “this is not outside, it’s a terrace!” (even though I clarified that I meant outside, on the terrace). Again, there was mockery of my pronunciation and understanding, and poor English from the staff. The dark-skinned employee who prepared my cappuccino did it with visible displeasure and added bitter cocoa powder on top (which I didn’t ask for). After that, I didn’t want to stay even for a second — I took my order and sat on the terrace. Moreover, the terrace was dirty, I sat at an uncleaned table after another guest, and there was no reaction at all from the staff.
