Bar Seco

Waiter brought us out still water and charged us extra when we asked for tap water, and then made up something about how he had the right to do so because this place “is a restaurant not a bar” and I shouldn’t have expected to receive tap water even though I asked for it. Soup of the day was pretty bland, babaganoush came with rock hard bread crisps and was full of coarsely chopped raw onions. Not worth the price we paid.

Have to credit this amazing bar/restaurant for being so considerate of my allergy. The gentleman serving me took it very seriously and continued to check that it was okay. The food was really good and no issues with allergies when it arrived (which is more than can be said for some chain restaurants we visited while in Barcelona). The atmosphere, service and drinks also fabulous- nothing to fault and would definitely recommend, especially to any other allergy sufferers!

Great value lunch menu for EUR 16 including three courses and a beer. Bistro level flavours, caring about tiny details which make a big difference. The chef is Hungarian and very friendly. Our kids enjoyed the cold, refreshing soups and tasty deserts. We came back for a second time and would come back again anytime!

Our last night in Barcelona, Catalonia was the pinnacle of what was nothing short of a brilliant trip because of Bar Seco. We'd just arrived from Ibiza and were returning to the States the next day. We stopped here during our evening walk for an espresso and sangria. The atmosphere was nothing short of amazing! Everybody seemed to know each other, as if they were family and that is how they treated us as well. To our Bar Seco friends, we've been unsuccessfully trying to duplicate your sangria, which was the best we'd ever had. Thank you for the amazing chocolate ganache and thank you for the brilliant espresso. But most of all, thank you for being so warm and welcoming and making us feel like family. Applaus Applaus!! Great food and so great people, friendship and good mood meet really great food… We liked the Tomato bread Asparagues with goat cheese Rips Patata Brava Humus Salad Salmon Pulpo And many more dishes…. So so friendly people helping if you dont know what the dishes mean like… Also for the northern european folks the sanitaries are really clean….
