great food and cafe atmosphere. the place is so well decorated and nice to sit in. The service is good too given that its usually busy all the time. The sandwiches are delicious but the sourdough is a tad too hard for me. This smoothy bowl is very good too we usually don't eat these and wanted to try it out. Its the smoothy and toppings goes very well together. Coffee is also good, no bad tastes, good body, chocolate and caramels tone its lovely. For the price i think its fair you get what you pay for.
If you’re in Bangkok and love good bread, you have to check out Bartels Thonglor. I’ve tried a lot of brunch spots around the city, but their sourdough honestly hits different. Perfect crust, soft and airy inside, and that slight tang that tells you it’s the real deal. You can taste the quality in every bite. Whether it’s their sandwiches or just simple toast with toppings, the bread is the star. The brunch menu is solid too — fresh ingredients, generous portions, and everything feels thoughtfully made. Great coffee, relaxed vibe, and just an easy place to hang out for a few hours. Definitely one of my go-to brunch spots in Bangkok now. If you’re a sourdough fan, this place won’t disappoint.
Bartels is a well-known chain with multiple branches, and I’ve visited several over time. My overall impression has consistently been positive. The coffee is very solid, and their sourdough bread truly stands out — great texture, balanced flavor, and always reliable. The salads are fresh and well-executed as well. One of Bartels’ biggest strengths is consistency. Across different locations, the quality remains stable, which makes it an easy default choice when you don’t want to take risks. It’s also extremely popular. Almost every visit involves a short queue to order, and seating is often full. Orders are placed at the reception counter only, and service feels efficient but not particularly attentive. It’s not a flaw — just more functional than warm. There are certainly many cafés in the city at a similar price point with comparable food and sometimes stronger service. Yet Bartels continues to draw a crowd, likely because of its dependable quality and strong brand presence. If you’re looking for good coffee and excellent sourdough in a lively atmosphere, it remains a safe and satisfying option.
Enjoyable experience. The sourdough bread was absolutely amazing – perfectly baked with a crispy crust and soft, flavorful inside. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into it. The scrambled eggs were another highlight, simple but cooked just right and very delicious. I also tried their cold-pressed juice, which was fresh, natural, and refreshing, clearly made from good ingredients. The coffee was excellent as well, smooth and well balanced. The café has a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or just a casual meet-up. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. Overall, great food, good drinks, and a comfortable vibe. Definitely a place worth visiting again and highly recommended for anyone in Bangkok looking for quality bakery and café options.
FOOD: The best grilled sourdough sandwiches with so many options from sweet, savory, meaty, to vegan choices. The bread is perfectly toasted—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The reuben sandwich and tuna melt sandwiches are my most favorite. Great place for breakfast, brunch and coffee meet-ups. Overall, the staff provided excellent service as well. DINING: This location is not suitable for large group of more than 4. The seats are mostly for 2-4 people. Decorated very beautiful, cozy atmosphere. Can be a little loud because of the small restaurant that can be a little crowded especially weekends. PARKING: This new location is great as it has parking at J-Avenue. If you order over 500b, keep the receipt and stamp you’ll get free parking for +4 hours.
