A lovely restaurant with great coffee, juices, pastries and sandwiches. We had a great lunch here but it's also a wonderful breakfast place too. The menu is varied and the food delicious. We had the French onion sandwich and Brucshetta. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you see a lot of people just hanging out socially or busy working away quietly. It can get busy so just enjoy the atmosphere as you wait for your food and enjoy the company of your friends/ laptop or book.
Bartels always delivers top quality food and never disappoints! My friend asked for extra meat on his Ruben’s Cousin sandwich and it was perfect! I usually order the Grilled Tuna Melt but today I went for vegan Sweet Tomato grilled sandwich. Loved it and will come back again soon!
Wasn't sure to get in because the place was absolutely packed on a sunday during brunch time, but nevertheless decided to try out the place seeing the cinnamon rolls as we were walking by. I did check out the reviews (as I always do) and saw most of the negative reviews mainly pointing to customer service or the lack thereof. We were welcomed and seated promptly and I ordered a double espresso, a cinnamon roll and a chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat). The double espresso was very balanced, nothing fancy, nothing really stood out in terms of flavor or notes. I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, simple yet very flavorful, cinnamon flavor really stood out, but nothing overpowering, soft dough, and not too sweet. The chocolate croissant too was great, but could have been better as we'd have preferred dark chocolate over the milk chocolate they have used in this, but definitely worth trying out. Being brunch time, the place was packed both on the ground & 1st floor, people coming in and out, grab pickups, lots of people working on their laptops, lots of staff moving about. Some of the breakfast platters looked absolutely smashing. Overall a great place, perhaps better on a weekday when it won't be half as crowded as on a sunday and I personally think the negative reviews about staffs clearing out tables and being rude stems from an overall busy ambience and nothing to do with the staff deliberately being rude, I interacted with a few and they all seemed friendly.
Super delicious food and coffee!!! We had a sandwich and a juice today. Last week we had breakfast here. Then we ate a smoothie bowl, a so called ‘open sandwich’ and a very good Americano coffee. I highly recommend this place. 2 things were there is room for improvement is the toilet (only 1 toilet) and maybe the speed of service. Staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Nuk. Thank you Nuk!
Great spot for lunch, the cheeky chicken salad tasted fresh and was very well balanced. Grilled Cubano was a winner — crispy, juicy and the jalapeños added a nice kick. Club sandwich was okay, very generous amount of filling. Cold pressed juices are a great accompaniment to the greasy grilled sandwiches.
