We visited Hong Sieng Kong in Talat Noi after seeing it recommended in several guides and social media posts. The place has quite a lot of hype, so we decided to stop by around sunset to experience it for ourselves. The venue itself is beautifully designed, with a mix of Chinese heritage architecture, riverside views, and an artistic atmosphere that makes it feel more like a cultural space than a typical café or bar. The live music was definitely the highlight of our visit. The musicians were very talented and created a great atmosphere. However, we ended up leaving a bit disappointed. To enter the venue you are required to purchase at least one item per person, and the prices are quite inflated compared to similar places in Bangkok. That alone would be fine if the full experience matched the cost, but to our surprise the gallery area was closed, which is normally one of the main attractions of the venue. There was also very little atmosphere at sunset, which made the place feel a bit empty despite its reputation. Overall, it’s still a beautiful location and worth seeing if you’re exploring Talat Noi, but the combination of high prices, mandatory consumption, and limited access to some areas made the experience slightly underwhelming compared to the hype.
Stepping into Hong Sieng Kong feels like walking into a living museum. This beautifully restored 200-year-old Chinese mansion in Talat Noi is the perfect blend of history and hipster cafe culture. 🌿 Highlights: · Vibes: Vintage antiques, tree roots growing through the walls, and a serene riverside terrace. · Grub: Their pastries are buttery and flaky—don't skip the carrot cake or the Coconut Blossom Coffee . · Tip: Go for sunset! The view of the Chao Phraya River is unmatched . A quiet escape from the chaos of the city. Highly recommend for photo lovers! 📸✨
Strictly 1 order per person. We didn’t have high expectations but surprisingly, the creme brulee was really good. We paid 320 THB (~600 PHP) for the brulee and lemonade. They accept card payments. Cafe is very spacious and aesthetic. It’s senior-friendly and suitable for wheelchairs/strollers since there’s no need to climb stairs to get seated. There are open-air spaces with plenty of natural wind plus several electric fans. I believe there are air-conditioned rooms as well, but we chose to stay outside to enjoy the river view and the relaxing sound of the water. Definitely a nice spot to chill and unwind.
This is a really nice place to visit if you enjoy history and art. You can see many different historical art styles and beautiful details in the architecture, which makes walking around very interesting. One of the best parts is the view of the Chao Phraya River—it’s very relaxing and peaceful. It’s a great spot to slow down, take photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere. You can spend time sitting, walking around, or simply enjoying the river breeze. The place feels calm and not too stressful, perfect for a short break or a relaxed day out. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy culture, scenery, and a quiet moment, this place is definitely worth checking out.
The restaurant offers a relaxing and inviting ambiance, made even more special by its beautiful view of the river. We were seated right beside it, which made the experience especially calming and perfect for unwinding. The overall atmosphere is ideal for a chill dining experience, whether you’re catching up with friends or simply enjoying some quiet time. What stood out to me was the place itself—it feels almost like a museum, with thoughtfully designed interiors that give the restaurant a unique and memorable character. There’s so much to look at that it adds to the overall charm of the visit. The food selection is impressive, with a wide variety of options to choose from, catering to different tastes. I ordered the matcha doughnut, and it was absolutely delicious—soft, flavorful, and not overly sweet, making it a perfect treat. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from the ambiance to the food. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food in a relaxing, scenic setting
