Cristof is so hospitable and welcome person! He explained all about his products and I was happy to buy baguette, pate and some more stuff. This is an amazing taste and totally highly recommend to each person to try it❤️❤️❤️
discovered Café Petit Boulangerie near Ubud after seeing a sign on the street advertising fresh cannelés. I stepped inside and was warmly welcomed by the owner, Christophe, who happily shared the history of cannelés and the challenges of baking them in a tropical climate. The cannelés were absolutely delicious — perfectly flavored and a real treat. Highly recommended!
So delighted to finally make it to Petite Boulangerie 🤍 I sat for around an hour in this quaint bakery as the owner (Kristoff) offered tastes of a variety of their home baked goods. Of special interest, and perhaps my new favorite French pastry, is the canelé…a fluted shaped caramelized bite of yumminess! Kristoff told me the history of the canelé, with it’s origins dating back over 400 years in Bordeaux, France where the nuns took the discarded yolks from wine makers to create the pastries for the poor children in the area. This made me love the canelé even more…since the philosophy behind my company, rehasht, has always been to recreated from discarded and unloved garments🤍 Petite Boulangerie uses only the highest quality ingredients such as butter, cream & meats. They source many fresh produce and eggs from the local market daily. A must visit to anyone wanting a true French pastry experience. Thank you Kristoff….mimi
When you walk into Petite it’s very reminiscent to walking into your local, welcoming bakery in Europe. Once you taste Petite’s menu, you can see why this place supplies catering to some of the best restaurants in Bali. You’re essentially walking in and going straight to the source. Amazing place run by amazing, friendly French owners.
Please note that these photos are taken during the soft opening stage so not everything is done being set up - the owner is a French man who has been living in Southeast Asia for decades. He was delightful to talk to and told us many stories and gave us his tasty madeleines to sample. They were buttery and soft and I would highly recommend them. My friend got a canele and he made sure to heat it up so that it would taste as good as possible. It's a very small shop so more for grab and go or you can sit on the little balcony if you are by yourself/with a smaller group.
