Coffee Roastery

Very disappointing experience. My family and I were politely sitting at a table while my brother had a hot chocolate. After about 15 minutes, the owner SHOUTED at us in front of other customers, saying that one drink was “too little for four people” and that we had to leave. We fully understand business rules and would have gladly ordered more or left if we had been approached respectfully. Instead, we were treated in an embarrassing and humiliating way. We’ve had wonderful, welcoming service all over Amsterdam. Unfortunately, this place was a sad exception.

I went to this place with my family (there were four of us) and we ordered a coffee. At a certain point, a blonde staff member shouted from a distance, in a rude manner, demanding that we leave, claiming that ordering only one coffee was “not enough” for four people. The approach was disrespectful and done in a way that other customers could hear. Completely inappropriate service and a very negative experience.

I'm a Dutchie born in Amsterdam and after living abroad for 10 years I'm living in Amsterdam again now for 15 years, and this place has been for me the best spot in Amsterdam to just hang low, look at the vibrant community passing by, have my early coffee (it is still one of the few coffee bars that is 'always' open from early morning on!) or hot chocolate in winter and sit in the sun on their sunny terrace in summer. The staff is sweet and normal, a compliment nowadays, they let's say have been around for a while you can tell, they've seen it all. The cosy (gezellige, warme) atmosphere they create and the tasty pasteries, breakfast, tosti's and croissants. I like it all. And wish this place will be one of those few things in (my) life that doesn't change. Come and have a look yourself!

Delicious food and excellent service. The Dutch Apple Pie with whipped cream was freshly baked and particularly delicious. Great atmosphere on a quiet residential street and close to the park. Highly recommended!

Great location and excellent food. The omelette sandwich with pesto was an amazing combination. Super crunchy bread and fresh greens with each bite. The blue acai bowl was super fresh as well. I normally am not a huge fan of acai bowls but this was delicious.
