Lovely bar on the square with a view of the statue of the artist Rembrandt. The beer was excellent, and the waitress was absolutely lovely – friendly and attentive.

Yesterday we went to the small café on Rembrant Platz for the first time. We had the Chardonnay which was very good. For a snack we had toast with fried eggs, bacon and cheese. The food was lovingly prepared, the salad as decoration was seasoned with a great dressing. The absolutely attentive and friendly service is also outstanding. We will come back!

First day in Amsterdam, 11:45 am, luggage still with me, I was starving!!! I look around and I find this cute bar nearby. The waitress was very friendly, I ordered the cheeseburger with bacon and for starters she recommended deep fried balls. They were so good I literally burnt my palette and still kept on eating. Burger was great too, it had cucumber and roquettes! Very tasty!!!

We often call in the Bruincafé 't Centrum when we visit Amsterdam. Not for any other reason than we went on our first ever trip and we really enjoyed sitting in the bar with a drink and a plate of bar nibbles...so why go anywhere else. The bitterballen and cheese sticks are delicious and we order some every time as a little treat. Service is fine, and despite being busy there is usually room if your prepared to sit inside. The veranda can get packed and smokey so we just stay inside. We will return for sure for another lovely afternoon...
