Metro Kinobar

Metro is a very charming and comfortable cinema. It's really for the lovers of this art, you can see films that are not available anywhere else. Staff at the cinema and at the bar are very friendly and helpful.

A very nice movie theater, with a fantastic shop for cinephiles all over the world. They show both Hollywood classics and of course Austrian and other international (mostly European classics). However, word of note, although it is near the touristy area (it's right around the corner from St. Stephens) the theater mostly (with, probably the exception of the showing of a Hollywood film during the summer holiday season) plays films for the locals. So, non-english movies are hardly dubbed in English. Oh, and the local audiences are great to watch an American film with. You get to sense how they react to certain scenes, scenarios, and jokes. Etc. Also the the sound system is one of the best.

Been there twice, once at the bar and once for a movie from the Jewish film festival. Very nice vintage atmosphere, would love to come back.
