Service is very good, staff are wonderful; friendly and helpful; however, everything else is subpar. Music is too loud and intense for the ambience. The armchairs and sofas are worn out, old, and dirty, full of stains. They’ve tried to mend it by adding some cushions but of course they don’t address the deteriorated seats. When you sit, you sink into the chairs and it’s hard to get up. Terrible for the back and posture. I hope they spend a bit of money to upgrade their furniture, given the prices they charge and the level the hotel is rated on.
2nd time attending the Westbury for afternoon tea and I cannot recommend it enough! As someone who is coeliac and is also unable to have onion and garlic, I often find it hard to find restaurants that can accommodate allergies/dietary restrictions and are understanding of cross contamination but the Westbury is a place I could go back to again and again with little stress. They are so understanding and attentive and are more than happy to check and double check to ensure that an item is coeliac safe. The staff are so lovely, the atmosphere is gorgeous and the food and tea are delicious. 100% the best gluten free scones I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go again!
Very nice place for enjoying your afternoon time and the wonderful afternoon tea here.
The afternoon tea at The Westbury was amazing The food was delicious the service espectacular. If you really love tea. This is the best experience. Totally recommend ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thank you for all Especially a Lais.
The Gallery and the service was truly outstanding and a great reflection of the Westbury hotel. And because of that, I had really high expectation for high tea and unfortunately was a bit disappointed. What I did love - you could truly spend the whole afternoon here and I appreciated that the tea was unlimited and that you could switch flavours. The sandwiches and scones could also be refilled. I also really loved the scones! They were my favourite food item. What I was disappointed with and especially for the price and again, what I expected of from this hotel was the food selection. The scones were my fave, the chicken and the egg salad sandwiches weren’t bad, but the salmon and ham sandwiches were super plain. They just felt regular… The pastries were highlighted in a delightful way but the taste didn’t match the presentation. Again, not bad but just not great or special. Perhaps I should have moderated my expectations but I’ve definitely had better and less expensive high tea experiences. Would not go again personally.
